Harris found her way to the knife in 2014, when Suffolk artist David Porteous-Butler introduced her to oils, and childhood visits to a Turner exhibition at the Tate left light "never far from my thoughts". Her influences run through Impressionism and Romanticism — Pissarro's Boulevard Montmartre at Night is her favourite painting — and it shows in how she lets light do the storytelling.
